There are so many trends out there when it comes to wedding cakes. Lots have been around for years and others have only been around for a short time.
A trend that has been around for a while now is the naked wedding cake. And just like all trends there are different styles within.
You can have full naked cake. This is when you see the outside of the bare cake without any icing at all covering it.
The flavour and colour of the cake is visible for all to see.
Lots of people choose this type of cake if that are wanting to have lost of fresh ingredients between the layers like whipped cream or fruit.
Usually these types of cakes have simple decoration to go with the simplicity of the cake.
Then there are the semi naked cakes. These do have a scraping of frosting around the outside of the cake but you will still be able to see the cake itself.
Once again this is a great style of cake for fresh ingredients, but you can also add other elements to the design.
Fresh flowers alway look lovely as do adding some drips and candy on top. Add a cake topper, nuts, leaves, ribbon, sprinkles, cookies, sauce anything to make it unique to you and your fiancé.
Remember the best part of any wedding trend is to grab it and make it your own and this is especially fun to do with you wedding cake.
